Review Summary:

Offering the backing of the largest platform available and with a number of features available in an easy to use interface, GoDaddy positions itself to be an excellent option for small and medium businesses alike.

When searching for a web hosting platform, the first that comes to mind is generally GoDaddy. The giant of web hosts sees itself with a much larger market share than competitors, clocking in at nearly 60 million domain names, with that number constantly growing. Sixty million can’t be all wrong and, for your money, GoDaddy offers a consistently reliable package of features and service at a competitive price, all under the umbrella of a widely known and respected brand.

The world of web hosting offers equal parts features and service, often times forcing a decision be made by small businesses as they decide which web hosting platform to choose. GoDaddy offers a wide range of features that users can use and has the size and commercial ability to give those options potential to soar. The power GoDaddy brings to the table does come at a price.

The large nature of GoDaddy makes it difficult to offer the personalized approach seen in other web hosting platforms. Customer service is offered in much the same way as the competition, and by no means were we dissatisfied with the experience, but it doesn’t offer the appeal of those services that respond to calls within a matter of minutes. Again, with email response, GoDaddy gets back to customers within 24 hours offering solid troubleshooting. There is a detailed FAQ targeted at both the beginner and veteran web builder. GoDaddy does dissuade some of the need for customer service by having one of the more easy to use platforms available for website creation.

The features offered to those web developers are abundant. Go Daddy creates an environment for beginners to easily set up websites, but does not leave advanced developers by the wayside, offering a number of additional site creation tools and the ability to use a multitude of programming language and marketing tools. The interface itself is also a breeze to use, with domain, file, and database managers consistently appealing and accessible to a wide variety of web building abilities.

It is important to note that some of these features, especially more advanced marketing, are not included in the lowest priced web hosting option. This practice extends to storage space allotments as well. Each plan comes with a space limit, the Economy and Deluxe plans allowing for 10 and 150gb, respectively. Email and database features also see limits, again requiring an upgrade to unlimited status. For most small businesses these limits are arbitrary, but if business is expected to grow, be aware of the potential for an increase in the web hosting expense of your monthly budget.

GoDaddy will likely make it onto any web hosting shoppers short list. Offering the backing of the largest platform available and with a number of features available in an easy to use interface and at a competitive price, GoDaddy deserves a long look. Longer service times and additional fees for unlimited features offer some pause, but GoDaddy positions itself to be an excellent option for small and medium businesses alike.
