View our Top Ranked Processor

For over a decade, PayJunction has been providing paperless payment processing for business located across the United States. Based out of Santa Barbara, California PayJunction is a highly rated processing solution, offering an integrated payment solution that combines both a virtual terminal, payment gateway, and mobile processing option. Through this solution merchants are able to accept credit cards (and checks), capture signatures (both in-person and through email), and email or print receipts. The electronic aspect of the signature capture is an interesting feature, and as more and more people move towards ways to both declutter and reduce waste, the “e” aspect of this solution is certainly appealing.

The focus of this system relies on the transactions going through their payment gateway. While typically gateways are used to process online transactions, PayJunction has developed their platform so that individuals at a storefront can process credit cards by using a laptop or desktop computer connected to a usb card reader. The other option that consumers are beginning to become accustomed to is that a card reader can be connected to a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet which can sit at the checkout counter. This is a bit non-traditional and there will be some merchants that prefer to connect a traditional card reader into their existing POS system or just use a stand alone terminal.

One of the real plusses to this system is that due to its foundation with the payment gateway, PayJunction offers a seamless carry over for online sales. There really is very little difference from the payment side whether a person is using the card in person or online. Additionally there are a number of features that come along with this sort of set up that you will not find on traditional accounts, such as the ability to easily set up recurring payments through the system and customizing the receipts that will be emailed to your customers.

The company has an overall A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, averaging one customer complaint annually. Over the last three years, one incident alleged problems with sales and advertising policies, and three related to product or service difficulties. 99 percent of claims were closed to the satisfaction of the consumer. Given the large volume of processing, so few adverse reports and such a high satisfaction rating, we feel confident that merchants that process with PayJunction should experience limited customer service issues.

Before You Sign A Contract!

We recommend that all merchants speak with at least 2 processors before signing their contract. Why?…

First – You should feel comfortable with the sales representative, if you’re feeling pressure on the call or feel as though you are not a focus, it’s unlikely your experience will improve after signing your contract!

Second – Be wary of introductory rates (specifically qualified rates) in the initial pitch – each business is unique and the rates/fees that will actually save your business the most, are only available once the sales representative has learned about your business.

We currently have Cayan listed as our top ranked merchant service provider. However if they do not fit your needs, you can look through our full list of processors and find the one that is right for your business here.

A strong selling point for this organization, similar to other top rated merchant service providers we’ve reviewed is that there is no contract. The services are month to month and can be canceled at anytime. Additionally for any merchant that processes over $10,000 per month they waive the $35 monthly account fee. Their overall costs are a little bit higher than some of their competitors, however for this premium you will be working with a state of the art solution with a stellar customer service record.

As with any combined system like this there can be drawbacks for traditional merchants looking to simply upgrade their existing account, or find a way to save money by simply switching service providers and lowering their monthly fees, switching to PayJunction represents a bit more of an overhaul. However it is nearly impossible to ignore the fact that they clearly are a company committed to providing merchants with a solution that offers a number of perks over a traditional merchant account set up. This solution is especially interesting for individuals that have an existing ecommerce business but occasionally need to process credit cards in person, or are looking to potentially begin expanding into a storefront.
