As with some of the competition, tabs are placed on screen for easy access. Also available is a welcomed setup wizard for step-by-step support. The simplicity at each step of the process is refreshing. Campaigns are just as easy.
Creating email campaigns can be done right from the dashboard. The interface in iContact is the easiest we’ve seen so far. The dashboard is clean, clear, and efficient. It also boasts the largest selection of templates available in any of the services we’ve reviewed. As with much of the competition, you do have the option of switching to HTML for design purposes and there are guides and tutorials for those designers interested in writing up their own emails.
Social media has become the tool to use in the email-marketing world. This realization has not escaped iContact. Integration with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus is a plus is a plus. Whereas some of the competition offers only statistics on a select few third party social media apps, iContact even has buttons for each of these that can be used by customers to share coupons every time a new email-marketing plan is released.
Sending and reporting emails also receives top marks with iContact. Tracking isn’t limited to just sends and opens. Tables and charts are available and statistics follow messages sent and forwarded as well as those bounced and delivered. Unsubscribed emails and click-throughs are reported as well. Social media reports are likewise strong, tracking click-backs and posts. Conversion statistics are only available with the Salesforce application, which requires a signup. Otherwise, statistics and reports offer everything businesses generally look for.
Our only issue is a minimal one. In iContact, as with much of the competition, there is a lack of 24/7 live support. Phone and live chats are available Monday through Friday only. These times aren’t 24 hours either, but our review process saw no issues with wait times during those available periods.
Added in are a number of live and recorded webinars, tutorials, guides, and an official blog. The breadth of resources was substantial, with tools available to seasoned designers and beginners alike. Availability of live support is our only real issue and it isn’t much of one unless your business is built on weekend warrior email creation.
The process with iContact is effortless. Statistics come with ease and track a number of relevant details, social media included. Customer support, while not 24/7, is still strong, offering numerous mediums for small businesses looking for support to find it. Businesses looking for an email marketing service would do themselves a disservice in overlooking iContact as an option.
Whereas some services appear to require advanced degrees in coding to set up attractive email campaigns, iContact makes the process impossibly easy, with simple, straightforward processes from start to finish, all at competitive prices.
