GetResponse hangs its hat on reporting, giving relevant data to users in an easy to understand format. Everything we wanted statistics for in our review process was met with a report. Graphs and charts populate with clearly labeled data. View options for multiple data aspects are available in the reporting section.
Tracking is a breath of fresh air with GetResponse. Subscribers are tracked as well as the reason and time of day they may unsubscribe. Email deliveries and opens are tracked. So are emails that don’t make it to their destination and the reason, whether it be a full mailbox or misspelled address. Survey summaries allow for results to be viewed on each question. One of the few issues we had with the service is that only number schemes are used for responses, rather than emails or names. This represents a minor issue, but worth stating to those who are new to reporting functions. All-in-all the reporting and tracking of GetResponse is worth the price of admission alone.
No service is valuable if consistent, attractive emails can’t be created. A solid selection of appealing templates and features like email preview make this a relative nonissue for GetResponse. The service isn’t the easiest to use, but compared to competing email marketing tools, it isn’t far off the mark. A drag and drop landing page creator marks a helpful addition. Likewise, features we’ve come to expect in the review process like easy contact imports and HTML options are all included and where they should be.
Event management and support were the two biggest drawbacks as seen in our review process. These issues can be either nothing or everything to businesses. If you plan on having live events with promotional emails and ticketing, GetResponse is not the service for you. On a lesser note, while FAQs, Webinars, and a number of PDF support tutorials are available, 24-hour customer service is not.
Monthly and annual plans are available, each with no send limits and tiered pricing. As you begin sending out bulk messages prices remain low ($15-$65 monthly or $148-$640 annually for 1-10,000 subscribers). Incremental increases occur as your business grows. These prices are more competitive the more emails your business sends so those looking to increase quickly will be pleased. Initial rates do start out higher than some other top rated services.
At the end of the day GetResponse offers all the back-end reporting and functionality businesses crave. Statistics are always at the ready and email functionality is on par with the market. Points are lost for lacking premium support and event management, but for those looking for a solid email marketing platform with superior reporting, GetResponse could be the answer.
